Guernsey's maritime emergency services were involved in a multi-agency rescue late on Tuesday night (27 August).
At around 9pm, the crew of a French yacht sent out a mayday call, saying they were taking on water and their pump had failed.
The vessel was plotted around 10 nautical miles east north-east of Sark.
French coastguard on the Cherbourg peninsula acted as translators for Guernsey Coastguard, who co-ordinated the rescue.
Two passing boats waited near the yacht until the RNLI's Spirit of Guernsey was alongside.
Crew boarded and pumped out the water, which they said was between eight to ten inches deep, until it was stabilised.
The yacht was towed back to St Peter Port and arrived just before 1am on 28 August.
Guernsey Coastguard say staff at Boatworks Plus deserve a special mention, as they turned out in the early hours of the morning to help crane the yacht out of the harbour and onto a dry standing.
