Herm CEO stepping down

After nearly seven years leading the Herm team, Craig Senior has announced his family's departure.

Craig Senior, who is originally from Rotherham, has been the CEO of Herm since 2019.

In this role, he was responsible for boosting the island's tourism, to make it as economically self-sufficient as possible.

Mr Senior says there is no bad blood, it's just the right time for them to move on.

"The schooling facilities are not really acceptable for our children, certainly commuting with a ferry during the course of the winter.

That's the main reason, but also, I think seven years is the right time for a CEO to move on to something different.

We've had to navigate a lot of challenges in that time, and I'm probably a little tired and burnt out."

Mr Senior will remain in post until an appropriate replacement is found.

"Herm island and the Bailiwick have provided us with a wonderful life for the last seven years.

I am enterally grateful for all their support, their guidance, mentoring, the challenge and for welcoming and supporting my family over this time.

The island will move on from me, I am only a very small cog in this business, there are some fantastic people around.

Good luck to everybody and to whoever is fortunate enough to take over from me - and wow, what a team they've got."
