Islanders in Guernsey and Jersey are having issues verifying their age, which is required by the new iPhone update.
If you’re an iPhone user in the Channel Islands and your device is asking for an update, you may want to wait.
iOS 26.4 includes new security features that require users to prove they are 18 or older, using a credit card or national ID.
This is because of changes in UK law, which don’t apply in the Channel Islands.
People are reporting that Guernsey and Jersey driving licences are not being accepted. Citizenship cards and passports are also not accepted.
Some islanders say this is stopping them from changing certain settings, especially in the “Content & Privacy Restrictions” section.
