An enterprising islander has created a new AI chatbot that deals with everything Guernsey.
Tech entrepreneur Doug Wilson was playing with Open AI's Chat GPT, feeding it information about Guernsey, and decided to develop his own version of the platform.
Doug created 'Guernsey GPT' in just five days, with information including shop opening times, which bins need to go out when and even details about eligibility for legal aid.
"If you've got questions about family law or planning law, it's coming up with answers that, as far as I could see, are quite useful, and releasing this to the public is a positive for everyone.
"You can ask it any questions you have.
"I'd love people to have a go at it - ask it some questions and tell me if it's useful or if the answers could be improved somehow."
Islanders can also find information on bus and ferry timetables as well as tourist information.

Doug Wilson says the platform is in the early stages, but he's keen for people to test it and contribute to the project.
"The more information the better. I just need to get some feedback."
Doug says, whatever people's concerns are about using AI, the move is happening:
"I would encourage people to use it and get familiar with it because if it's definitely coming, we can either bury our heads in the sand or we can use it to our advantage.
"There's no point in hoping it doesn't happen because if we don't use it someone else will."
Islanders can access Guernsey GPT for free on www.sarnia.ai/guernsey-gpt.
