Fete d'la Mair will unite everyone with a love of Guernsey's varied and beautiful coast.
The Arts Seafront Sunday has an added ingredient today (7 June) in the shape of a new festival celebrating Guernsey's seafaring roots.
Fete d'la Mair in local patois, or Festival of the Sea, will have a presence on the Crown Pier all day.
One of its founders, Marcel Lenormand, says many people know little of Guernsey's maritime heritage and the fact that relatively large wooden boats were built in St Peter Port, along the current South Esplanade.
He says remembering and celebrating this is essential to the Fete.
But, it is also about enjoying the sea, whether you are a year round swimmer, a boat owner or someone who appreciates the island's coastal beauty.
He says there are lots of activities to take part in:
"We’ve got a demonstration of forging, steam bending, spa making, Willow basket and crab pot weaving, and a full size Capstan.
"And we’ve got boat trips - weather permittimg - from just £10 for a round-trip to Fermain or Saints Bay and back."
