One person is taken to hospital after falling from the cliffs at the Cow's Horn below Fort George.
Guernsey's emergency services received a call at 8.45 last night (4 January).
Given the darkness and accessibility problems the Police, Ambulance and Rescue and the RNLI's two lifeboats were called.
Police officers reached the person first and gave them first aid while paramedics were ferried across Havelet Bay by the RNLI to make the person safe for transport to St Peter Port harbour.
The operation took 1.5 hours and the Coastguard praise the way the services worked together under testing conditions:
"The location presented significant challenges, and we commend the swift, professional actions of Guernsey Police, Ambulance and the RNLI lifeboat crews."
The condition and personal details of the person who fell are not being released.
The cliffs in this area are prone to rock falls and thick undergrowth in places hides steep drops to the rocks below.
A mock cliff rescue exercise took place close by last month to test the emergency services response.
