The Barclays Premier League and Women’s Super League trophies are on show at the bank's branch in St Peter Port today (29 May).
This weekend, both the Barclays Premier League and Women’s Super League trophies are in Guernsey, with plenty of opportunity for fans to admire them.
They will be on show at the bank's St Julian's Avenue branch today, from 10am.
The bank is one of the backers of Guernsey's Victoria Park football stadium and tomorrow the trophies provide a centrepiece to a youth six-a-side tournament.
Senior Barclays executive, Justine Gaudion, says this, and the presence of the trophies, is designed to motivate young island footballers:
"We’re delighted to be bringing football’s most coveted silverware to Guernsey.
"We hope the visit will inspire a new generation of young islanders to enjoy the many benefits of football."
Victoria Park director, Rob Jones, says getting the trophies to Guernsey is a coup:
“This landmark event promises to be a highlight of Guernsey’s sporting calendar.
"We’re thrilled to be supporting Barclays, one of our founding partners, in delivering this fantastic initiative, providing a unique chance for fans of all ages to grab their own small slice of football history."
