The site of the former Octopus restaurant was sold on the Local Market and now the price paid has been made public.
Octopus burnt down in February 2024 and the land was cleared that summer.
At around this time, the restaurant owners, Mike and Delphine Pesrin-Auder, bought the plot for £1 from Deputy Yvonne Burford.
The sale price reflected complex insurance and legal negotiations over the site.

The couple, who are well known local restaurateurs, wrote on social media they they planned to rebuild, but instead began a new Boulangerie venture in the Charroterie.
They advertised the half moon shaped land at Havelet for sale as a development opportunity earlier this year.
The prime coastal location sold in July on the Local Market, and now the sale price has been made public, a substantial £2,555,000.
Plans for its redevelopment have yet to be submitted.
