Visits to Guernsey Prison have been cancelled after a Covid-19 outbreak at Les Nicolles.
The prison has been put into special measures to test inmates.
Prisoner Governor John De Carteret says these measures will stay in place until all test results come back and they are able to make evidence-based decisions on delivering services.
“As a result, visits are being cancelled for now and unnecessary mixing within the prison is being avoided.”
As of Friday 14 January, there were 1210 known active cases in the Bailiwick, with 80 positives results returned in the previous 24 hours period.
