Swimmers in Guernsey may need to avoid the waters around Soldier's Bay for some time.
A team inspected the Fort George outfall on Monday (10 May) after reports of sewage being released too close to the bay.
Guernsey Water has since confirmed damage around the pipe’s inspection chamber.

The utility says repairs are likely to take some time due to the difficult working conditions.
Crews must dive underwater to reach parts of the pipe, clear seaweed, and work around the tides.
A statement said:
"As soon as we have a plan for repairs, we will provide a further update. If you swim in the area, please be aware that this is the current situation."
