It's the semi-finals of the cooking competition at St Sampson’s High School.
This is a national event run in the UK and Channel islands to promote careers within the industry to students aged between 13 and 16 years of age.
With Guernsey struggling to employ chefs and other hotel staff this initiative hopes to identify and encourage young home-grown talent to study, and go on to work in the industry.
Open to all schools, it has proved popular with 14 students taking part from 8 different schools including pupils flying in from Alderney.
A presentation evening on Monday 18 November will announce which students will be taking part in the final.
They'll be introduced to a chef to mentor them ready for taking part in the local final on Friday 5 December and that winner will go forward to the next round in the UK early next year.
