The MS Hamburg was due to anchor in the Little Russel on 14 April but will go to Cherbourg instead.
Guernsey's 2026 cruise ship season was due to begin tomorrow (14 April) with the visit of the MS Hamburg en route from A Coruna in Galicia in northern Spain.
Instead, the company's agents told Guernsey Ports on Friday that the ship would not dock here due to weather conditions.
However, the winds tomorrow are forecast to be a Force 4 from the south to the south east.
It is understood that the Hamburg was weather affected in a previous port on its itinerary and is skipping Guernsey to make up time and will go to Cherbourg instead.
The cruise season opener will now be on 21 April when the Ambassador Line's Ambience is due to visit with 1,900 people on board.
