Coronavirus: Care Home Resident Dies

A resident at a Jersey care home has died after contracting COVID-19.

The death has been confirmed in the Government's latest stats, meaning 42 people are known to have died with the virus since the pandemic began.

The number of active cases in the island has continued to fall through, with 76 people recovering and just 19 new cases over the last 24 hours.

Most were found through contact tracing, workforce testing or seeking healthcare - with just one new case arriving through the borders.

It means there are 712 known cases right now.

1,851 people are known to have been in direct contact with someone who has the virus, and 169 test results are pending.

The 14-day average number of cases is down to 664.2 - the lowest figure since Sunday 13th December.
