A pathologist from the UK Home Office has confirmed 68-year-old Pamela Nisbet died after being stabbed in the neck.
A 40-year-old man arrested on suspicion of her murder remains in custody.
He appeared in a closed court session today, where Jersey Police was given permission to keep him in custody for a further 24 hours while their enquiries continue.
The property on Les Grupieaux, St Peter remains sealed-off for forensics.
Specially trained officers are supporting Mrs Nisbet's family, and the force says they're being kept informed.
