Around 4,000 will be getting a £300 fine for not filing their 2025 tax return in time.
Revenue Jersey says it received 63,000 of an expected 67,000 completed returns before the end of July
Anyone who missed the deadline will now be issued with a default assessment notice, and will have to pay a potentially higher percentage of their earnings until they complete their 2025 return.
They will also get a £300 penalty for being late, netting the department around £1.2 million in total.
Of those who did submit their return in on time, almost 60% chose to file online. That was up 4% on last year.
Comptroller of Revenue Richard Summersgill said: "It's encouraging to see more Islanders choosing to file their tax returns online, with almost 60% of returns now submitted digitally.
"Online filing is quicker and more convenient for taxpayers. It also allows Revenue Jersey to process returns more efficiently and provide a better service to Islanders. I'd like to thank everyone who filed on time, particularly those who used online filing for the first time this year."
"Anyone who has not yet filed their return should do so as soon as possible to avoid additional penalties and ensure their tax assessment is based on their actual circumstances."
