Almost 2 in 3 teachers and school staff in Jersey say they have considered leaving the school or college they work in, according to the latest survey responses.
The latest Jersey Schools and Colleges report compiles the findings of a survey that assesses key themes including job satisfaction, working conditions, pupil wellbeing, and behaviour, to inform planning and policy.
This year, it found that around a third of teachers and staff faced physical abuse at school and college, rising to two-thirds with verbal abuse.
3 in 10 said they had been verbally abused by parents.
The same proportion believe that pupil behaviour is below the acceptable standard, and almost half report feeling less satisfied than three years ago.
The report found that almost two-thirds of Jersey's teachers and school staff have considered leaving the school or college they work in.
The survey is conducted in partnership with Trade Unions, and runs biennially, providing insights that will inform improvements in working conditions, wellbeing, and support across the education sector.
