Airport bosses are telling passengers to leave 'plenty of time' to check in and clear security as they brace for a busy weekend.
More than 20,000 passengers are expected through the travel hub over the bank holiday, while a large number of flights are departing within minutes of each other.
There have been numerous reports online of long lines at the security checkpoint throughout the summer season.


However, one of the scanners failed within hours, causing confusion and delays.
Inbound passengers are being encouraged to pre-book travel from the airport or catch a bus.
Calls for friends and family doing picking to use the car parks rather than the drop-off zones have been repeated.
