The Battle of Flowers Association has issued a statement in response to concerns expressed about its fireworks finale to this week's Moonlight Parade.
It says the decision hasn't been taken lightly and the display is subject to strict risk assessments and safety controls.
Weeks without rain has left the land parched, pushing the wildfire risk level to severe and prompting the Fire Service to warn against fireworks and bonfires.

Battle organisers say the public can be reassured that Saturday night's display is 'fundamentally different' because it is being set off from a barge at sea on the high tide.
A statement says the Association also has significant experience in event and fire safety, and we are satisfied that the appropriate measures are in place to manage the risks associated with the display.
"We are aware of recent public comments recommending that the use of bonfires, barbecues and fireworks be suspended during the current dry conditions. We fully understand the reasons for such advice and would never disregard legitimate fire safety concerns.
"However, it is important to distinguish between general advice concerning activities that can create a fire risk on land and the specific, professionally controlled display planned for the Battle of Flowers."
It adds weather conditions will be closely monitored and if at any point safety advisers identify a risk that can't be managed safely, the display will not take place.
"The Battle of Flowers is a long-standing Jersey tradition, and we are proud to bring the event back to the Avenue this year.
"The firework finale is intended to provide a spectacular conclusion for the thousands of people who come together to enjoy the event, but it will only proceed where we are satisfied that it can be delivered safely and responsibly."
