A grey Hyundai hatchback was seen doing a burnout - where the car is at a standstill while the tyres spin - on La Route du Nord at around 11:45pm before hitting the pedestrian and leaving the scene.
The pedestrian was treated in hospital and was released in the early hours of this morning.
A 21 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. He is being spoken to by officers.
Police want to speak to anyone who saw what happened, saw the vehicle immediately before the incident, or has dashcam footage of it.
