Jersey Hospice Care's annual Christmas Tree Collection has raised more than £45,000 for the local charity.
Every year in early January, volunteers give their time to collect Christmas trees from all around the island in exchange for a small charity donation.
2000 trees were collected in the 2025 new year period, which were taken to the green waste team at La Collette and converted into soil improver for Jersey farms and gardeners.
The £45,000 raised in the annual tree collection and recycling project will cover a month's worth of care in the hospice's in-patient unit.
Jersey Hospice Care, which provides palliative support for islanders at home, in hospitals and in care homes, costs £16,500 a day to run - with help being free for anyone who needs it.
Scott Douglas, Events Manager at the charity, says the money raised in the Christmas tree project will make a 'huge difference'.
He says: "This scheme is a big staple in the calendar - not just for us, but for the community - which is why we get such enthusiasm from everyone involved. We're thrilled we've raised in excess of £45,000!"
