Islanders can sail directly between Jersey and Alderney this summer thanks to a new sea link.
Water Taxi CI, operating under Go-Sail.je, will be taking people between Jersey and Alderney from this week (26 May) until late September.
Alderney's government has subsidised the service to boost connectivity between the islands.
The Economic Development committee confirmed the sea route will operate four times a week from Friday to Monday, with one rotation each day.
Committee Chair Stuart Clark says the service will complement Alderney's offering in supporting its hospitality sector and strengthening transport links.
“We are delighted that the tender process for the Jersey - Alderney route has proved to be competitive and that we were able to identify a provider to operate this largely unexploited route.
"We look forward to assessing the value of this new route to our island, both socially and economically."
The vessel being used for the service is the "Atlantic Isle", which seats 12 passengers.
Tickets start from £78 one-way during May and June, increasing to £93 for adults and £82 for children from July to September.
If successful, the service could come back in 2026.
Max Boleat, Founder of Water Taxi CI, says they are delighted to have been selected to operate this new inter-island link.
"We have been operating the route on a private charter basis for a number of years and have a well-established customer base that will be excited to continue using the service, along with a wealth of interest from tourists for weekend breaks."
Bill Sadler, Jersey Harbour Master, welcomes the introduction of the new direct route between Jersey and Alderney:
