A new 'Equipment Hub' will give islanders access to affordable, repurposed care and mobility equipment.
The facility - at La Collette Recycling Centre - is the result of two years of collaboration between disability charity Enable Jersey, the government, charities and private organisations.
It aims to address the high costs and lack of availability of mobility and care equipment.
Enable Jersey will collect donated, good-quality used equipment, such as profile beds, rise and recliner chairs, mobility scooters, wheelchairs, and walkers.
After being professionally checked, tested, and serviced, they are made available to buy for a fraction of the cost of purchasing new.

So far in 2025, Enable Jersey has received more than 300 requests for mobility equipment, which it says shows just how vital this service is to Jersey’s residents.
CEO Sean Pontin says he's happy to see something so needed come to fruition:
"For many years we've been trying to solve to conundrum of community equipment - there's lots to think about.
"But when you break it down, you can get this stuff out quite quickly.
"We noticed there's a lot of stuff out there and it's not being used. We want to get it back out there being used.
"Sometimes we go back to people and say 'I know this has been really difficult for you, but I wanted you to know that this bed and chair that was your mum's has gone out and really made a difference, so thank you.' "
The Equipment Hub will be open Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 am to 4 pm and other times by appointment.
It offers collection and delivery services by arrangement.
