Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey is launching its new 'Sun Awareness' campaign which will see suncream stations dotted around the coast.
Islanders are encouraged lather on sunscreen to protect themselves from skin cancer.
Melanomas can be caused by the sun's UV rays, which can still affect people when it is cloudy or if the light is artificial, for example sun beds and sunlight lamps.
The cancer charity recognises that the cost-of-living crisis is making it difficult for islanders to find the money to buy suncream.
The sunscreen stations, which have been set up at the island's most popular beaches, give islanders the choice to be sun-safe with no cost.
Kevin Alway, Operations and Communications Lead for Macmillan Jersey, says by providing islanders with greater knowledge about skin cancers, there should be a reduction in the risk of these cancers.
"With the sun stations being placed around Jersey’s coastline, we hope anyone from our island or visiting will utilise these whilst learning more about the early prevention of skin cancers and the services on offer to anyone in Jersey affected by cancer provided by our charity."

Funding for the suncream stations has come from the funds donated to Macmillan on the closure of the Donna Annand Melanoma Charity.
