Injured student on cliff path assisted by emergency services

Jersey Fire and Rescue are encouraging the use of 'What3Words', to pinpoint locations for quick responses

Fire crews and paramedics have rescued a student who fell whilst walking along the cliff paths between Greve de Lecq and Plemont.

The young man injured his leg and was unable to continue with his walk.

Emergency crews, including paramedics and firefighters, were called at 11am and were immediately dispatched to the scene.

On arrival, paramedics provided immediate medical attention to the young man.

Firefighters then took turns to carefully carry the student to a waiting Fire Service 4x4 all-terrain vehicle.

From there, he was transferred with paramedics to a waiting ambulance. The casualty was then taken to the hospital for further assessment and treatment.

Jersey Fire and Rescue has praised the use of the 'What3Words' app in the incident, as using this they were able to exactly pinpoint the young man's location.

JFRS is encouraging anyone exploring to make sure someone knows your route, take care on uneven paths, and consider using location tools like What3Words to help emergency services find you quickly if needed.
