International observers are back in Jersey to assess next month's election.
The Election Observation Mission is organised by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association British Islands and Mediterranean Region.
The core team is made up of:
- Head of the Mission - Gary Clueit from the Isle of Man
- Two election analysts
- Two members of staff from the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association BIMR branch
They will be helped by a second team, who arrive on 3 June:
- Hon Randy Howell from Turks & Caicos Islands
- Ann Corlett HK from the Isle of Man
- Sarah Champion MP from UK Parliament
They will meet candidates, local groups, and election officials in the run-up to polling day on Sunday 7 June to get an insight into the electoral process.
The mission will assess the election against international standards and domestic laws - it's the third time they have been invited to the island.

A preliminary statement will be published the day after the election (8 June) with initial findings, with a final report containing more detailed findings and recommendations published at a later stage.
The Head of Mission, Gary Clueit MLC (Isle of Man), said:
"The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association British Islands and Mediterranean Region is pleased to return to Jersey to observe the upcoming general election, building on our work in 2021.
"Election observation is a vital part of strengthening democratic processes, and our mission will focus on assessing the election against established international standards.
"We look forward to engaging with stakeholders across Jersey and supporting transparency, accountability, and public confidence in the electoral process."
Lisa Hart, Greffier of the States, said:
"On behalf of the Jersey Electoral Authority, it is my great pleasure to welcome the Election Observers to the Island. Their role in observing, scrutinising, and, where necessary, constructively challenging our systems is essential to maintaining and strengthening public trust in our democratic institutions.
"Our Island has a long-standing commitment to open, fair, and transparent elections. Democracy should always be dynamic, and our Island can learn from each election. Independent observation plays an important role in that evolution, and we are grateful to the Observers for joining us at this important time.
"We look forward to their feedback, which will help guide future improvements and thus contributes to the integrity and vitality of Jersey’s democracy."
