Jersey's Chief Minister says the government is monitoring the impact on the island's economy of the Iran war.
Lyndon Farnham says supply chains are stable and no disruption is expected to the availability of goods and essentials.
In a statement issued on Sunday evening (8 Match), the island's senior politician gave an update on the situation in the Middle East.
It comes as crude oil prices rose above 114 dollars (85 pounds) a barrel for the first time since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
The cost has risen by around 25% since Friday amid fears of a prolonged conflict which has pulled in countries and places critical to the production and movement of oil and gas from the Persian Gulf.

Higher oil prices are expected to push up the pump price of petrol and the cost of heating oil, as well as what we pay for food due to rising production costs being passed on to consumers.
Jersey's government is 'monitoring potential economic impacts, including inflationary pressures arising from wider global uncertainty.
Deputy Farnham said:
"Government officials remain in contact with partners across the Island, including the Jersey Consumer Council, who continue to track local market conditions and pricing trends.
At present, supply chains remain stable and we do not anticipate any disruption to the availability of goods or essential products."
Meanwhile, islanders who are concerned about travel to the region or who are worried about loved ones there can contact Jersey's External Relations department for 'additional reassurance and support.
Deputy Farnham says they can email ExternalRelations@gov.je. but he says this does not replace the role of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) as the primary source of travel advice.
"Islanders experiencing travel disruption are strongly encouraged to check the latest updates on the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) website, which remains the most reliable and up-to-date source of official travel advice."
"We will continue to keep the situation under close review and will provide further updates as more information becomes available."
