Jersey Bulls knocked out of FA Cup

Jersey Bulls have been knocked out of the FA Cup in a 3-1 defeat at Burgess Hill Town.

The first qualifying round replay was delayed by a week after air traffic control problems affected travel last Tuesday.

It has ended goalless at Springfield in the initial fixture.

Step 3 opponents Burgess Hill went a goal up after just six minutes, through a Chris Whelpdale header.  He fired again at the 23 minute-mark.

Jay Giles got Jersey's own goal from a free kick just before half time.

Whelpdale completed a hat-trick for the home side from a corner in the 89th minute to seal the win and progression to the second qualifying round and a game at Hanwell Town on Saturday.

Jersey Bulls now return their focus to the league, with a trip away to Winchester City this weekend.
