Jersey Bulls have won promotion with victory over Cobham FC in the play-off final at Springfield.
The island side will play in Isthmian League Division One South East next season after last night's 2-1 win over Cobham in the Combined Counties Premier Division South Play-Off Final.
Goals from Joe Kilshaw and Fraser Barlow either side of half-time ensured the celebrations for the capacity crowd at Springfield stadium.
Impressive form throughout the season had put the Bulls on course to finish as league leaders and earn automatic promotion.
But a late three points deduction last for fielding an ineligible player in an earlier game dashed those dreams.
However, Bulls supporters rallied behind their team to see them reach the eighth tier of English football, the highest level they have played at since the club joined the league system in 2019.
Fans expressed their delight, and Jersey's Chief Minister congratulated the team:
We are going up, we are going up, well done boys, we are so proud of you
Great game tonight. Whole team gave everything out there on the pitch tonight. Congratulations, well deserved.
The boys deserve this.. They played and managed the game so well.. With all the expectation, they kept their heads and should be so proud of this achievement.. And to the Island supporters who turned out when needed.. Now for next season and if we keep the support going with a step up in division, we can continue to grow.. COYB!
Brilliant Jersey Bulls ⚽️ Congratulations on a hard fought and well deserved promotion! 👏👏 🇯🇪 https://t.co/VfrjAAAuW7
