Jersey International Motoring Festival launches 25th anniversary events

From rolling roadshows to racing hillclimbs, and moonlit sprints to static displays, the Jersey International Motoring Festival launches its 25th year of events.

To reflect the milestone, the festival is introducing a bit of a twist to secure even more years of motoring celebrations.

JIMF is introducing the use of sustainable petrol for all competitive vehicles, for the first time in its history.

The greener, synthetic petrols have been called 'the future of fuel' by Steve Salmon, the festival coordinator.

"This isn’t just about making motorsport more sustainable — it’s about giving the wider community a chance to experience what the future of fuel can look like, helping classic car owners keep their pride and joy on the road for years to come."

The Rubis First Tower forecourt will also become the first in the British Isles to make sustainable petrol available to customers this week.

For the motor festival itself, there will be four days fuelled with cars, bikes and special guests.

Running from Thursday, 5 June to Sunday, 8 June, islanders have the opportunity to watch various sprints, parades and browse static shows from Victoria Avenue, People's Park and Westmount.

This year, headline guests World Supersport rider Tom Booth-Amos and British Superbike Champion Leon Haslam are performing in live demonstrations and hosting fan-meets throughout the event.

Lights out and away we go!

The festival officially gets underway on Thursday (5 June) with the Rolling Roadshow taking to Victoria Avenue.

Classic and modern cars and bikes will parade for islanders, with demonstrations from the event's special guests, alongside several riders from Jersey.

The Moonlight Sprint returns on Friday (7 June) with the Avenue transforming into a quarter-mile course, where drivers will test the limits of their cars and bikes.

A weekend of events follows, with the opening of People's Park, featuring the Static Display, various vendors and live music performances.

Among the hundreds of exhibitors this year will be the Jaguar XJR-5 - a 1985 endurance prototype, boasting a V12 engine - as well as many race-winning vehicles brought to the island by JHP Racing.

Just across the park will be the Westmount Hillclimb, where contestants will put themselves to the test with hairpin bends and steep inclines.
