Jersey Met Warns Waves Could Break Over Sea Walls

A tide warning is in place for tonight's high tide (12 March).

Jersey Met says waves could break over sea walls just after 8pm.

An 11.8 metre tide could cause problems with water and debris blocking coast roads and walkways.

There could be further disruption tomorrow morning at 8:30am during rush hour.

The 12.32 metre tide earlier caused boats to overtop and capsize at the harbour.

It was the second highest tide ever recorded in the island.

A tide warning generally occurs five to 10 times a year.
