La Moye School is holding a football-themed fundraising day to celebrate their under 11s girls football team making it to the Schools Cup regional finals.
The primary school is honouring the girls' triumphs, which is a first for the school, with a football-themed dress-down day and a bake sale to raise money towards travel costs to the UK.
The team, who are Channel Islands champions, will fly to Bristol on 16 March to take part in the south-west regional finals.
Coaches from the Jersey Football Association will be joining pupils today (1 Match) to hold special training sessions with the squad to prepare them for their crunch fixtures.
Headteacher John Baudains says the girls have been training hard all season with weekly practices with some of the school's teachers.
"We're delighted with the hard work they've put in and the progress over quite a long period of time, over a whole season. They've worked really hard.
To see the response shows just how much a higher profile girl's football has nowadays from what it may have had in the past.
There's a real buzz around the place as we celebrate their success so far and look forward to hopefully more success coming in the regionals."
