A 36 year old man has been found guilty of sexually abusing a young child.
Aaron Roy Forsythe Gardner has been convicted of three charges following a five-day trial at the Royal Court.
He was found guilty of two counts of sexual penetration and one count of sexual touching of a child under the age of 12.
Gardner was arrested last June and charged in December 2025.
Detective Garnier of the States of Jersey Police, said:
“This was a deeply distressing investigation involving serious offences committed against a young child for his own sexual gratification.
"These offences represent a profound betrayal which has had a lasting impact on the victim and their family."
Police have commended the victim for showing 'immense courage' throughout the investigation and court proceedings.
"The bravery and resilience demonstrated by such a young person has been extraordinary.
"We also recognise the unwavering support provided by the child’s family during what has been an extremely difficult and traumatic period. Their strength, dignity and cooperation throughout this investigation have been invaluable.
"We hope today’s verdict provides some measure of reassurance and marks an important step towards recovery for those affected.”
Police say anyone affected by issues raised in this case can seek support through local safeguarding and victim support services.
Gardner has been remanded in custody pending sentencing.
