The Royal Court has found John Sebastian Nicolle guilty of the grave and criminal assault of a woman.
Nicolle committed the attack over several hours, in June 2023, punching, slapping and kicking the victim as she lay on the ground, as well as shouting and spitting on her.
The court heard how the 51-year-old later grabbed her by the neck and squeezed for almost a minute.
The woman reported the incident to police two days later, after officers were called to reports of a disturbance.
Nicolle has been remanded in custody his sentencing.
