A man has been charged over a 'violent' lunchtime fight with another man in town.
One was seen kicking and punching the other as he lay on the ground, and police say a large traffic cone was used in the alleged assault.
Both men were arrested, and neither was seriously hurt.
Officers want to speak to anyone who saw what happened in Halkett Street and Beresford Street at around noon on Monday (10 March).
They say one suspect was wearing a dark gilet top over a light coloured long sleeve top and the other male was predominantly dressed all in black.
One witness police are looking for in particular is a man who was seen carrying a small child who is believed to have been close by and had to move away.
Anyone who may have seen this or who has any information is asked to contact police on 612612 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their Anonymous
