A man has been jailed for two years and four months by Jersey's Royal Court for making indecent images of children.
Patrick Joseph Huard, who is 58, pleaded guilty to three charges at a hearing in May,.
Police searched his home last September as part of an intelligence led 'action day' - and seized several devices.
They found more than 1,200 images. More than a hundred were in the most serious 'A' category.
Detective Constable Daniel Grigoras from the Criminal Investigation Department said:
“These are not victimless crimes, these sorts of images cause real harm to real children and the viewing and making of indecent images like these creates demand and so leads to further abuse.
We won’t tolerate any form of abuse against children and the States of Jersey Police are committed to target those who offend in this way.”
Huard has been put on the Sex Offenders Register for eight years.
"Anyone who has concerns about suspected Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation can contact the MASH on 519000 or the Public Protection Unit at Police Headquarters via 612612."
