Jersey's latest inflation rate is 2.7%, but food costs rose more steeply and the price data doesn't cover the most recent impacts of the war in the Middle East.
The RPI rate is largely unchanged from the previous quarter - it was 2.8% in December 2025.
The prices of alcoholic drinks, food and household and leisure services are the main contributors to price increases.
Food has increased by 3.7% in the year to March.
Heating oil and other fuels increased by almost a third (31.9%) and petrol and oil was 3% more expensive.
However, price data was collected up to mid-March, so only part of the economic impact of the Iran war is reflected in the report published today (24 April) by Statistics Jersey.
The next report will come in the summer, reflecting more recent developments in the conflict.
Underlying inflation, or core inflation, which removes volatile prices such as fuel and food and shows a more long-term trend, is at 3.7%.
The latest UK inflation rate announced this week was 3.3%.
