Princess Anne to visit Jersey in November

Princess Anne will be visiting Jersey in November and will tour the newly-refurbished Opera House.

The Princess Royal will be in the island on Tuesday 4 and Wednesday 5 November.

The two-day trip was announced during today's States sitting.

The Bailiff, Sir Tim Le Cocq, told the Assembly Her Royal Highness will carry out several engagements during her stay.

They include unveiling a portrait of King Charles III and Queen Camilla to commemorate their visit to Jersey in July 2024.

Princess Anne will also tour the newly-refurbished Jersey Opera House, which is preparing to reopen with a full autumn programme following a £12m restoration.

HRH is patron of Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, which this year is marking 100 years since the birth of its founder, the late Gerald Durrell.

The princess will attend the Durrell Lecture: Celebrating the Rewild our World Strategy 2017-2025 at the theatre.

She will also visit the Jersey Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association (RAFA), which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.

Princess Anne last visited Jersey in 2023, when she opened the tortoise enclosure at Jersey Zoo.  She also visited in 2021, opening the new Les Quennevais school during that trip.
