A new initiative by Jersey Community Relations Trust will celebrate Portuguese culture and community.
'Project Luso' aims to connect with, communicate, and better understand the experiences of Jersey's Portuguese population.
The initiative plans to research the lives of those with a Portuguese background to document and raise awareness of the stories within the Portuguese community.
It wishes to address challenges faced by the Portuguese population while celebrating the culture's contribution to Island-life.
Selina Zenonos, Vice-Chair of Jersey Community Relations Trust and leader of Project Luso, says: "JCRT is proud to champion and celebrate the rich diversity of our community.
"We are launching an important research initiative to explore and uplift the experiences of migrants on our island."
Project Luso will be at the Portuguese Food Festival at People's Park on Saturday 24 August.
Local artist Kelly Eastwood will lead a Portuguese Tile art activity at the Jersey Youth Service Marquee, teaching the vibrant visual history of Portugal's characteristic ceramics.
JCRT is inviting anyone in Jersey with Portuguese heritage to complete a short survey to help them understand how to best serve their community. This can be completed here.
The Portuguese Food Festival runs from Thursday 22 August - Monday 26 August.
