Jersey Sport is launching a new scheme that celebrates the island's local sport volunteer workforce.
The 'Volunteer Support Scheme' recognises the contributions and achievements of those who volunteer for the island's sports teams and organisations, making them possible.
Any sport volunteer can be nominated - for example, coaches, officials, board members, caterers and transport supporters.
Nominations must be submitted by the 15th day of each month via the online survey - the awarded volunteers will be announced in the last week of the month.
Each awarded volunteer will receive a plaque in recognition of their contributions, presented by Jersey Sport, and the organisation they represent will receive £200.
Team Jersey at the Island Games
David Kennedy, Jersey Sport CEO volunteers are the backbone of Jersey's sports community:
"We are lucky to have many incredible islanders who tirelessly dedicated their time and energy to supporting and uplifting our local sports scene.
"Through our new Volunteer Recognition Scheme, we want to thank those volunteers and inspire the next generation."
Jersey Sport will only award funding to sport organisations that have obtained a Green status from Jersey Sport’s Safe and Sustainable Sport Health Check.
