Scott Chosen To Lead Under 21s Into Muratti

Former Muratti captain James Scott is the new head coach of the Jersey Under-21 football team.

His first match in charge will be the Muratti fixture in Guernsey on 24 April.

He will be assisted by Stuart Andre.

Guernsey's young footballers have won the last five under-21 Muratti matches.

James says he was delighted to be approached to lead the side into April's game.

"I believe there are some very exciting and talented players within this age group and my newly assembled coaching team and backroom staff are very much looking forward to working with the lads and preparing them as best we can. Our aim is simple....to win a game of football.

"On a personal note, I see this as a big responsibility and something I am very much looking forward to. I have started planning our training and team bonding schedule already. It's important for me to mix things up a little bit on that front.

Hopefully, all the lads will buy into what we are trying to do, as some of it will be a little bit different."

He has previous management experience after taking charge of the Parishes of Jersey team in 2018.

Jersey FA CEO David Kennedy says James is an outstanding appointment.

"James has a wealth of experience and respect in Jersey football.

He is extremely passionate about Jersey football and I'm certain that will rub off on everyone around him."
