St Helier has won a top Britain in Bloom Award.
Jersey’s capital took gold in the large coastal towns category – beating Bournemouth, Deal and Falmouth.
Judges were impressed with the planting in Parade Gardens and the Millennium Town Park.
70,000 bulbs have been planted in the past year.
There was also praise for local schoolchildren whose up-cycled floral bins have been on show near the Cenotaph.
Gorey and St Clement also made it to the finals in Belfast, taking silver gilt in their categories.
St Clement’s ‘wonderful’ Botanic Gardens at Samares Manor and colourful display at the Parish Hall won admiration, as did the floral boat in Gorey village.
