Taxi and cab fares are going up again.
The Infrastructure Minister has agreed a 3.4% increase in tariffs for rank journeys.
Deputy Kevin Lewis says that is in line with inflation.
According the information published by the government:
Once the increase comes into effect, the new tariffs will be:
Tariff 1 (Monday to Saturday, 7am to 11pm) – £3.06, plus 23p for every 10th of a mile
Tariff 2 (Monday to Saturday, 11pm to 7am; all day Sunday; public holidays) - £3.16, plus 33p for every 10th of a mile
Tariff 3 (Christmas Even and Boxing Day, 7pm to 7am, and from 7pm on New Year’s Eve until 7am on 2 January) – £5.42, plus 36p for every 10th of a mile.
The changes mean that a standard daytime journey from a St Helier rank to the Airport (around 4.6 miles) will typically rise from £13.13 to approximately £13.64.
The latest increase follows a 3.3% rise in fares last October.
