Two men have been jailed in the Royal Court today (5 November) in separate drug importation cases.
Richard Steven Connelly, who's from Nottingham, was sentenced to three years and six months in prison for trying to smuggle class A and B drugs into the island.
The 41 year old was caught by Jersey Customs and Immigration Services (JCIS) officers with 10.29 grams of cocaine and 4.79 grams of ketamine inside his person.
Connelly claimed the drugs were for personal use.

In the second case, Terry David Renyard was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for trying to import 192 grams of cocaine into Jersey.
The 52 year old, who's from Spain, arrived in the island on 5 July 2024.
He was then stopped by officers who found a package containing cocaine concealed underneath his clothes.
Renyard admitted that the drugs, with a street value of £48,000, were bought in Alicante and were intended to be sold in Jersey.
