Blue Islands has announced direct flights to the north-east of England from Jersey and Guernsey.
Services to Newcastle will commence on 3 May 2025.
Blue Islands will operate flights up to three times a week - on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays - up to early November.
The airline says will make short stays and weekend visits possible again for the first time in several years.
Ronnie Matheson, Blue Islands’ Chief Revenue Officer, says it is exciting to expand the connectivity provided to the Channel Islands.
"We’re confident that this will become a firm favourite in our route network."

The schedule will offer:
- Flights to and from Jersey and Newcastle:
- Non-stop in both directions on Thursdays from 26 June to 11 September;
- Non-stop on Saturdays from 3 May to 1 November;
- Tuesday flights from 6 May to 28 October will have a short stop at Guernsey in each direction.
- Flights from Guernsey to Newcastle:
- Non-stop on Tuesdays from 6 May to 28 October;
- Thursdays with a short stop in Jersey from 26 June to 11 September.
- Flights from Newcastle to Guernsey:
- Non-stop on Tuesdays from 6 May to 28 October;
- Thursdays will have a short stop at Jersey from 26 June to 11 September;
- Saturdays will also stop in Jersey from 3 May to 1 November.
Year-round connections continue via Southampton with Scottish airline Loganair, which is a partner of Blue Islands.
Newcastle
Matt Thomas, Ports of Jersey’s CEO, says air connectivity boosts business investment, tourism and economic growth.
"It is encouraging to hear that Blue Islands is investing in increased connectivity to Newcastle for next summer and introducing a new region to their timetable."
Ross Coppolo, Guernsey Ports’ Managing Director, has also welcomed the new route.
"The new service provides valuable connectivity to the north-east of England and is the result of a collaborative approach between Guernsey Ports, Blue Islands and Newcastle Airport increasing the destination options for the local community and those looking to travel to the Bailiwick in 2025."
