Vocalist Savanna Vogt is this year's Jersey Young Musician of the Year.
16 year old Savanna picked up the coveted title, and a £1,000 prize towards her musical studies, at the final of the competition at Jersey Arts Centre on Saturday (1 March).
Six talented youngsters, who each won their respective heats, performed a short programme of their chosen music to adjudicators and a theatre audience.

The finalists were:
- Island Music Woodwind Heat – Emma Mwanga (flute)
- Jersey Premier Brass - Brass Heat – Summer Watkins (trumpet)
- Jersey Vocal Trust - Vocal Heat – Savanna Vogt (vocal)
- Wendy Falla Piano Heat – Jason Hoare (piano)
- The Band of the Island of Jersey Percussion Heat – Oliver Hutton (percussion)
- Dorothy Chapman String Heat – Edward Clark (violin)
Savanna's repertoire was judged the most expressive and technically accomplished performance of the evening.

Oliver Hutton won the Jersey Symphony Orchestra Award.
Dr Graham Cox, Principal of Jersey Music Service, praised the high standard of entries and said judge David Chatterton - retired Assistant Principal of the prestigious Chetham's School of Music' had a 'difficult task'.
The competition, in its 33rd year, is sponsored by PwC. Marketing Director, Abigail McDermott says it shows off the wealth of musical talent in the island:
"This competition really showcases the very best of Jersey’s young, gifted and disciplined musicians. Those that have made it to the final should be extremely proud of their achievements."
This year’s junior winners are also presented with their trophies.
