Volunteers To Clean The Islands' Beaches

Islanders are being invited to take part in the Big Channel Islands Beach Clean.

People in Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney and Sark are being encouraged to help with the clean-up.

Each island has a number of beach cleaning activities planned across the weekend.

SATURDAY 9 MARCH

10am - L'Etacq, Jersey

10am - La Mare, Jersey

11am - Long Beach/Hungry Whale, Jersey

11am - L'Islet Kiosk, Guernsey

11am - Sark School, Sark

SUNDAY 10 MARCH

10am - Ouaisne Bay, Jersey

10am - Bel Royal/Kiosk, Jersey

11am - Seymour Slipway, Jersey

2pm - Clonque/Platte Saline, Alderney

Islanders can also independently clean a beach of their choice.

Those who choose to do so are being asked to log their findings by making a note of the date and name of the beach cleaned, any interesting finds, how many people participated, the weight of what was collected in kg, and a photograph of the haul.

Organisers say they want to ensure our beaches are a safer and cleaner place for all users.
