La Pouquelaye in St Helier is closed for emergency leak repairs.
Delays are expected this morning (15 October) and diversions will likely be in place for most of the day.
Jersey Water says it is unrelated to the incident in December 2024, when a burst main created a sinkhole that damaged buildings and closed the road for months.

It says, given the ground conditions and disruption caused last time, it is doing a full inspection while the road is dug up.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area if they can.
Buses will be diverted.
Water supplies to nearby homes should not be affected, but anyone who notices a problem should contact Jersey Water Customer Services on (01534) 707300.
Jersey Water has apologised, and says it will provide a further update when the work is complete.
