Six graffiti art panels have been unveiled, as work continues to build the Ann Street Youth Centre.
The panels, installed by Dandara, feature artwork made by young people from Jersey schools and youth projects, with each design celebrating their ideas and creativity and offering a glimpse of what they want the new centre to represent.
Students from Grainville School, d'Auvergne Primary School, Mont à l’Abbé School, and Springfield Primary School all took part.
They reflect themes that are important to young people - including friendship, inclusion, creativity, sport, music, wellbeing and belonging.
They've also been asked to share their ideas for the new centre through the Ann Street Youth Ambassador programme.
One of the ambassadors, Elliott B, recently joined youth worker Ted Pafitis at Jersey Children's Day, where they spoke to young people and families about the centre's plan and what they want to see in it.
Suggestions from the 64 young people, ranging from Year 4 to Year 12, and 39 parents and interested adults they spoke to, included:
- Spaces to relax with friends
- Creative activity areas
- Gaming facilities
- Places here young people can access support and feel welcome
The centre is due to open in 2028.
