Maya Le Tissier was named Sports Personality of the Year for 2019 at the Channel Islands Sport Awards.
The Brighton ladies footballer won the public vote beating Athletics' Cameron Chalmers and Jersey swimmer Harry Shalamon and Jersey shooter Cameron Pirouet.
Guernsey cyclist Sam Culverwell was named Rising Star of the year. Sam finished 12th in a national event last year and was a gold medalist at the 2019 Island Games.
There was a posthumous award for Guernsey’s Ralph Anthony and Eric Waldron as they were named winners of the Michael Lucas Sporting Hero Award.
From Jersey, it was a double for cricket as the Jersey cricket team were named Team of the Year and Neil MacRae was Coach of the Year.
