The Bailiwick's programme to vaccinate the population against Covid-19 has stepped up a gear with the first call centre bookings for appointments from Guernsey's over 75s.
The new system to book vaccination appointments went live on Saturday.
128 people aged 75 and over have booked an appointment for their first Covid-19 vaccination dose in the first weekend of the new call centre being operational.
More than 400 invitation letters were sent out via special delivery organised by Guernsey Post.
Toni Airley, Vaccine Contact Centre Manager, says callers are keen to receive their jab, prioritising their appointment over other commitments.
"I am pleased we have now launched the Vaccine Contact Centre. This represents a significant step forward in our response to Covid-19. The staff working over the weekend received calls from delighted islanders who were keen to receive the vaccine as soon as possible.
We did hear from some who were apologising for contacting us over the weekend. There is no need to be concerned about bothering us, we are here 7 days a week to help."
Islanders who have received their invitation letters and want to make an appointment are encouraged to do so as soon as possible. Family members can make appointments on their behalf if that is easier.
Some 890 patients at IslandHealth in St Sampsons received their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine over the weekend.
Two special clinics were held on Saturday, with a third on Sunday.
The patients were all in the priority cohort of people aged 80 and over and 54 IslandHealth staff also received their first dose.
Guernsey continues to have eight known active cases of Covid-19.
